Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time (1.0) fixed-term position as a Research Associate/Project Manager for Health Innovation Hub Ireland, within the College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at the University of Galway.
This position is funded by Enterprise Ireland and the HSE under a grant award. The post is available from June 2025 until 30 June 2026, subject to a successful six-month probation period. There is potential for renewal for an additional 5 years, subject to external review.
About Health Innovation Hub Ireland (HIHI)
HIHI is a government-funded initiative supporting healthcare innovation development and implementation. It facilitates industry access to healthcare systems for testing technologies. HIHI is a collaborative partnership of clinical and academic centres aimed at accelerating healthcare innovation, addressing challenges, and boosting jobs and exports.
The HIHI innovation office at the University of Galway is located within the Lambe Institute on hospital grounds, near a networking hub for university and hospital groups.
HIHI operates in a highly collaborative environment with team members based in Galway, Cork, and Dublin, working closely with HSE hospital groups (including Saolta University Healthcare Group), community care services, and stakeholders such as Enterprise Ireland, the HSE, academic institutions, CRFs, hospital groups, patient groups, and industry.

Salary
The salary scale for the Research Associate position ranges from €45,846 to €58,481 per annum, depending on experience and funding limitations. Salaries are typically at the first point of the scale for new appointments, with possible higher placement based on prior experience.
