Job Title: Mechanic Location: Mayo Salary: *****k Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Job Overview We are seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience to join our workshop team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of HGVs to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and compliance with all legal standards.
Key Responsibilities Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and Vehicles Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently Work on braking systems, suspension, steering, engines, gearboxes, and axles Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues Ensure all work is completed to RSA standards Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment Respond to vehicle breakdowns when required (if applicable) Comply with all health & safety and company procedures Required Experience & Skills Minimum 5 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic or Technician Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability Experience working on a variety of HGV makes and models Good understanding of current transport legislation and safety standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and time management skills Full Irish driving licence KSGalway Should you require any support or assistance, please contact your local Gi Group office.
