What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a Qualified Industrial Electrician for our client, a well-established company, based in the Carlow area.
This is a Permanent Role.Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:
* Perform electrical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on industrial equipment and machinery.
* Work with 3-phase power systems, motors, VSDs (Variable Speed Drives), and industrial control panels.
* Interpret and work from electrical schematics and technical drawings.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and increase reliability.
* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement effective repairs.
* Work with PLC systems – programming knowledge is advantageous.
* Ensure all work is completed to high standards of safety and efficiency.
* Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records and logs.
What are we looking for?
* Qualified Electrician with relevant trade certification.
* 3–5 years’ experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Strong experience with 3-phase electrical systems, VSDs, motors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
* Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot effectively.
* Strong fault-finding skills.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems.
* Experience with both preventive and reactive maintenance practices.
* Excellent fault-finding skills and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
* Strong commitment to health and safety protocols in an industrial setting.
* Ideally based in or near the Carlow region.
