I am on the lookout for an experienced Medical Scientist to join one of my clients in their Blood Transfusion team. This role is critical in delivering safe, high-quality transfusion services to patients requiring blood and blood products for surgery, trauma, anaemia, cancer treatment and other medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform blood grouping, antibody screening and compatibility testing to support safe transfusions.
• Investigate and resolve complex serological cases including rare antibodies and haemolytic disease of the newborn.
• Issue and monitor blood products while ensuring strict compliance with national standards and regulatory requirements.
• Operate and maintain specialist laboratory equipment including automated analysers and blood grouping systems.
• Provide urgent transfusion support in emergency situations and collaborate closely with clinical teams.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure full traceability and adherence to quality standards
Skills and Attributes
• Strong knowledge of immunohematology and serology.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Clear and confident communicator able to support colleagues during major haemorrhage and trauma protocols.
• Commitment to professional development and maintenance of CORU registration.
