Road Freight Transport Operator
At Reed Global, we are seeking a highly organized and experienced Road Freight Transport Operator to join our team in North Dublin.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing road freight shipments, with a focus on groupage traffic. This role involves planning deliveries and collections, liaising with drivers, customers, and port authorities to ensure all consignments are handled efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Duties of the Role:
1. Coordinate Daily Groupage Collections and Deliveries: Oversee daily groupage collections and deliveries across Ireland and the UK, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of goods.
2. Manage Freight Movements through Dublin Port: Handle freight movements through Dublin Port, ensuring accurate completion and submission of all documentation and customs requirements.
3. Liaise with Hauliers and Subcontractors: Communicate with hauliers, subcontractors, and customers to schedule and monitor shipments, ensuring seamless logistics operations.
4. Prepare Customs Clearance Paperwork: Prepare and manage all necessary customs clearance paperwork, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
5. Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Proactively resolve any transport or customer issues in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to all road transport legislation and company policies.
6. Liaise with Warehouse Teams: Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure correct loading/unloading of groupage freight, maintaining high standards of service quality.
7. Maintain Driver Performance: Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules, ensuring optimal fleet management operations.
8. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and service providers, providing exceptional customer service and support.
9. Support Fleet Management Operations: Assist in managing driver schedules, ensuring routes are optimised and service levels are met, while supporting fleet management operations by ensuring vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and roadworthy.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum 2-3 Years' Experience: Requires minimum 2-3 years' experience in a road freight forwarding role, with a focus on groupage.
* Strong Knowledge of Dublin Port Operations: Possesses a strong working knowledge of Dublin Port operations, customs procedures, and port systems.
* Experience Handling UK-Ireland Freight Movements: Essential experience handling UK-Ireland freight movements post-Brexit is essential.
* Proficient in Transport Management Systems: Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Understanding of Customs Processes: Understanding of customs processes and procedures is required.
