and seeking an experienced, values-led
Director of Nursing (DON)

brand-new service

What you'll do
* Provide strategic and clinical leadership to deliver exceptional, person-centred care
* Own clinical governance end to end: risk, safeguarding, audits, and compliance
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing nursing and care team
* Ensure HIQA standards are not just met, but routinely exceeded
* Embed continuous improvement, professional development, and resident engagement
* Partner closely with residents, families, GPs, and MDTs to maintain a truly homely environment
* Manage staffing, budgeting, and resource planning with a cool, steady hand
* Monitor care plans, quality metrics, and outcomes—then raise the bar again
* Champion a safe, supportive, and empowering culture for residents and staff
Your support network
* Assistant Director of Nursing for day-to-day clinical support
* Experienced CNMs and a committed nursing team
* Regional senior management and compliance partners
* Access to HR, training, recruitment, and quality assurance teams
What you'll bring
* NMBI registration (RGN, RPN or RNID)
* 7+ years' post-registration experience; 3+ years at ADON/DON level
* Deep knowledge of HIQA regulations and national standards
* Proven leadership and operational management capability
* Excellent communication, delegation, and problem-solving skills
* A resident-centred mindset—always
* Degree-level education and/or post-grad in management or healthcare leadership (desirable)
