Quantity Surveyor

An award-winning Main Contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor. The company delivers bespoke projects for educational, commercial, healthcare, and pharmaceutical clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in cost management of multiple live projects
2. Conduct detailed cost estimates, budget preparation, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
3. Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify scope of work, materials, and resources required
4. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain quotations and negotiate contracts
5. Monitor and track project expenditure against budget, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures as needed
6. Ensure that all variations, payment applications, and final accounts are managed in accordance with contractual agreements
7. Review and assess change orders, variations, and claims, providing accurate cost assessments and recommendations
8. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to optimize project costs and value engineering solutions
9. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies related to cost management and procurement
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* 1-5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
* Strong understanding of construction cost principles, measurement techniques, and contractual arrangements
* Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders
* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in cost estimation and financial reporting
* Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in construction cost management
