Role Overview
A new opportunity to join the Public Sector & Regulatory Dept, which plays a key role in delivering as part of Ireland’s Climate Action Plan.
The dept reports to the Minister for Climate, Energy & the Environment & manages regulatory & strategic programmes to support public sector energy & emissions targets by 2030.
Programme Focus
As part of the Public Sector Services Programme, you will:
* Collaborate with 348 public bodies to help them establish & manage energy programmes tailored to their needs.
* Coordinate technical supports, training, mentoring, & events that empower public bodies to improve energy efficiency & decarbonise.
* Oversee tools like Gap to Target analysis, Critical Success Factors review, & the implementation of energy management systems.
Your Role Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Public Sector Services Programme Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing, managing and coordinating supports to :
* Enhance ecapacity across public bodies
* Facilit climate action & energy efficiency goals
* Validate annual data to guide future national climate planning
* Design, streamline, & coordinate support services for public sector energy efficiency & decarbonisation.
* Deliver core programme components:
* Annual Critical Success Factor review
* Gap to Target analysis & modelling
* Manage a panel of procured energy experts to direct supports & advice.
* Develop & run annual training programmes, events, & networking initiatives.
* Enhance the Energy Link platform & other communications tools for public sector stakeholders.
* Create guidance materials, case studies, webinars, & respond to enquiries.
* Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the programme & share best practices.
* Represent the organisation at meetings, site visits, & public events—including speaking engagements.
* Oversee budget management for consultancy supports & implement cost-saving strategies.
* Identify service delivery issues & initiate process improvements.
* Support coordination across other projects to ensure efficient service delivery.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Min Level 7 NFQ degree (or equivalent) in Eng, Science, Business, Tech, or Building Services.
* At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a related sector or role (can be postgraduate exp).
* Proven ability to build & maintain stakeholder relationships.
* Strong communication skills, with experience in report writing & public speaking & IT skills
Desirable
* You can work independently & as part of a team.
* Experience in the sustainable energy sector or public sector.
* Proven budgeting & cost management skills.
* Project mgt experience involving diverse stakeholders & ensuring good customer service.
* A background in energy efficiency, building services, or decarbonisation projects.
