JOB DETAILSExciting opportunity for individual to work on key policy issues related to the labour market and education system. The areas of Social, Education and Innovation Policy have the potential to shape both the future of work and the type of society that we want as well as preparing and equipping the citizens with the competencies to engage fully. This role is offered on a specified purpose contract covering maternity leave. The closing date will be the 27th November.ABOUT THE ROLEResearch and Policy DevelopmentEngagement on the development of position papers and responses to Stakeholder consultationsMonitor developments in relevant policy areas and provide analysis and make recommendations for action.Consult with members and help to identify their policy priorities.Review consultation papers, research papers, draft legislation etc., and provide appropriate feedback. Representation and stakeholder managementDevelop and maintain relationships with member organisations, Trade Unions, representative organisations and other stakeholders as appropriate on issues regarding social, education and labour market policy.Represent Ibec effectively and professionally on external bodies and committees, and at seminars and conferences. Member services and communicationsAct as committee secretary to relevant policy committees such as the Ibec Innovation Policy Committee and the Ibec Labour Market & Skills Council ensuring appropriate minutes and papers are prepared and action plans implemented.Maintain the profile of the Ibec's skills and social policy area by regularly contributing articles to relevant Ibec and external publications, and through social media. Ensure that Ibec's knowledge in the education, skills and social policy area is effectively managed by updating web content. Participate in the development and execution of events and initiatives for members. Work towards the delivery of Ibec strategyWork collaboratively across the organisation on social, education, skills and labour market policy including identifying opportunities for regional engagement.Contribute to the development and delivery of Ibec's national policy campaigns. Carry out other duties as identified and agreed with the Head of Skills and Social Policy that are in keeping with the overall purpose of the position. NOTE: This list is not exhaustive but serves to reflect the nature of the duties included in the role.
