Job Description: Claims Specialist – Construction, Global Property & Terrorism (Dublin)
This role is an opportunity to join a leading insurer in a claims handling capacity working in our Dublin based office. As a claims specialist, the successful applicant will be a key member of the team handling Construction, Property and Terrorism claims, in a lead and agreement party capacity. You will build and develop relationships with key clients and stakeholders, internally and externally to continue to strengthen AXIS’ lead role in the marketplace.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for adjusting all types of Construction, Property and Terrorism claims worldwide, in accordance with the claims handling guidelines and reporting to the Claims Manager.
* Appoint and manage third party service providers, external legal advisors and other experts to ensure a premier claims service is delivered.
* Work closely with clients and brokers and develop strong working relationships.
* Handle Company Market and Lloyd’s Syndicate claims.
* Assist in handling complex cases with more senior colleagues.
* Liaise with underwriters on wording/policy issues, expert panels and provide claims info and attend client meetings as appropriate.
* Liaise with other internal stakeholders, including Risk Management and Actuarial teams to ensure consistent information and knowledge sharing.
* Liaise with Ceded Reinsurance team to assist with outward reinsurance recoveries and address queries from reinsurers.
* Take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

* Understanding of the London Insurance Market.
* Ability to build and develop strong relationships with clients and third parties.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience at all levels.
* Ability to make disciplined decisions based on information provided, with a focus on driving results.
* A team player mentality with the ability to motivate yourself and others.
* Desire to expand knowledge and develop expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
* Working knowledge of the insurance industry, ideally with construction and/or property insurance knowledge.
* Experience in a syndicate or company or broker within claims with practical marketplace exposure.
* Degree or professional qualification of diploma level or above (CII or equivalent).
* General interest in construction, property & terrorism and desire to widen technical knowledge and experience.

* Required to be in the office 3 days per week.
