The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and technically minded individual to join our team as a Trainee Robotic Sportsfield Machinery Technician.
This is a unique opportunity to specialize in the cutting-edge field of automated and GPS-guided sports turf equipment.
You will undergo comprehensive on-the-job training and formal instruction to become a fully qualified technician, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of our fleet of robotic machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of senior technicians, the trainee will learn to:
Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and software issues in robotic sportsfield equipment (e.g., robotic line markers, autonomous mowers).
Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks according to manufacturer specifications to ensure maximum uptime and performance of the machinery.
Commissioning and Setup: Assist with the installation, calibration, and initial setup of new robotic equipment at client sites, including setting up GPS boundaries and operational parameters.
Software and Firmware: Learn to perform software updates, firmware upgrades, and configure control systems for the automated machinery.
Client Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients, offering guidance on operation and basic troubleshooting.
Documentation: Accurately document all service and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures and ensure equipment meets all relevant regulatory standards.
Training Program:
The successful candidate will be enrolled in a structured training program that includes:
Hands-on experience in our workshop and on client sportsfields.
Formal training modules covering electrical systems, low-voltage electronics, mechanical engineering principles, and software diagnostics specific to robotic systems.
Mentorship from experienced RangeKing technicians.
Qualifications and Skills
A minimum of a (Specify educational requirement, e.g., Leaving Certificate, trade certification, or equivalent) in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automotive).
A strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a passion for technology and automation.
Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
A willingness to learn complex robotic and GPS-guided systems.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Must hold a valid driving license (or be working towards one) as travel to client sites will be required.
