Day Porter – Hotel Killarney
Location: Killarney, Co. Kerry
Employment Type: Full-Time Fixed-Term
Contract: Commencing at the middle of February and continuing through the end of October, with the possibility of extension.
Hotel Killarney is seeking a friendly, dedicated, and highly motivated Day Porter to join our Front of House team. As a key member of our guest-facing operations, you will contribute to the smooth running of the hotel, ensuring our public areas are presented to the highest standards and that our guests receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet all guests warmly and professionally, offering assistance with luggage, directions, and queries.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house area, including the lobby, corridors, entrances, and public restrooms.
* Set up event spaces such as meeting rooms, conferences, and special functions as required.
* Provide lobby and room service support when needed.
* Carry out daily fire and security checks, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
* Assist the Reception team with guest support tasks during peak periods, including check-ins and check-outs.
* Ensure porter stores and equipment areas remain tidy and well maintained.
* Undertake any reasonable duties assigned by management.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a customer-facing or porter role within hospitality is an advantage.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Fluent English, both spoken and written.
* Ability to use initiative and work independently as well as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
* Professional, well-presented, and guest-focused at all times.
