Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor
Overview
We are currently seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to join a leading construction and engineering organisation delivering large-scale projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project teams, promoting a positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental requirements.
This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a fast‑paced and progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Health, Safety and Environmental management systems.
Assist project teams in achieving and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and client requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Monitor site activities to ensure safe working practices are consistently maintained.
Support the preparation and review of Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), permits, and safe systems of work.
Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns.
Assist with incident, accident and near‑miss investigations, ensuring findings are communicated and actions implemented.
Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation.
Support environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management, housekeeping, and sustainability objectives.
Liaise with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and client representatives on EHS matters.
Promote behavioural safety initiatives and encourage workforce engagement in safety programmes.
Assist in monitoring key EHS performance indicators and preparing reports for management review.
Qualifications
Degree, Diploma, or Certificate qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
Membership of IOSH or a relevant professional body
Previous experience in an EHS role within construction, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, utilities, or infrastructure environments
Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation
Experience carrying out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of an organisation
Strong organisational and reporting skills
Full clean driving licence
Additional Qualifications
Experience working on large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, or engineering project
Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management system
