Our online presence continues to expand, incorporating vending technology, scanners, on-line sales and selling, coupled with social and video marketing.Our strength is our Direct Sales Force of which we have the largest in Ireland, on the road selling, servicing, and supporting our growing customer base. Our main industry sectors are: Automotive Aftermarket, Engineering & MRO, Construction, Renewables as well as Kitchens, Bedrooms & Bathrooms. Within our company's headquarters in Limerick, you will find over 70 support staff working across a variety of functions including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Services, Purchasing, Human Resources and Logistics.Role OverviewThe Head of Key Accounts will lead the strategy, growth, and development of our most important B2B client relationships across Ireland. Operating within the construction, engineering & automotive sectors, this role is responsible for maximizing revenue, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ensuring long-term partnerships with major national and regional clients.We are seeking dynamic candidates based in the South/South-West of the country who are ready for a new career challenge. This exciting opportunity is for the position ofHead of Key Account Managementwith Wurth Ireland. While the role has a nationwide remit, applicants should reside in the South/South West region, as regular attendance at our Head Office in Limerick is required.This is a senior commercial role requiring strong industry awareness, exceptional relationship management skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to deliver tailored technical and commercial solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and execute a nationwide Key Account strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives across various industry sectors.Identify new commercial opportunities within existing accounts, including product diversification and service expansion.Provide strategic guidance to the leadership team on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity within Ireland.Client Relationship ManagementAct as the senior point of contact for high-value B2B clients, building trusted and long-term relationships.Conduct regular on-site visits nationwide to understand client operations, project pipelines, and technical requirements.Oversee contract negotiations, framework agreements, pricing strategies, and service-level commitments.Ensure timely resolution of issues and act as an escalation point for complex customer needs.Business Growth & PerformanceDevelop detailed account plans and revenue forecasts for all key accounts using CRM software.Work closely with the Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure coordinated delivery of customer solutions.Monitor account performance, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions where necessary.Drive growth through cross-selling and up-selling across our product and service portfolio.Industry & Sector AlignmentMaintain up-to-date knowledge of various industry sectors including Government and semi-state institutions.Monitor upcoming infrastructure projects, tender opportunities, and regulatory changes influencing customer demand.Team LeadershipLead and develop the Key Account Management team, ensuring capability, performance, and commercial acumen.Set clear KPIs for revenue growth, customer satisfaction, contract renewal, and strategic expansion.Support the team with coaching, training, and development plans to ensure continuous improvement.Qualifications & Experience5+ years' experience in senior account management, commercial leadership, or B2B sales within relevant industries.Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree is an advantage.Demonstrated success managing national or enterprise-level accounts.Strong understanding of Irish industrial markets, project cycles, and supply chains.Proven negotiation skills and experience managing large contracts and multi-year agreements.Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Full driving licence and willingness to travel nationwideKey CompetenciesCommercial and strategic acumenIndustry knowledgeLeadership & team developmentCustomer-centric mindsetAdvanced negotiation skillsRelationship building & stakeholder managementData-driven decision-makingProblem-solving and solution designComputer literate including working with digitally based ordering systems, Microsoft office, CRM software an advantage
