This is a home-based Crane Service Technician role, offering excellent earning potential, strong benefits, and long-term career stability.As a Crane Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting a range of mobile cranes and lifting equipment in the field.
You will work independently from home, travelling to customer sites using a fully equipped company van.The Role – Crane Service TechnicianThis Crane Service Technician position is field-based and customer-facing, focused on delivering high-quality maintenance, diagnostics, and breakdown support.
You will play a key role in maintaining customer relationships while ensuring equipment is serviced safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.Key Responsibilities:Carry out maintenance, fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile cranes and lifting equipment
Attend breakdowns and provide emergency call-out support as required
Conduct LOLER inspections and ensure compliance with all safety and legal standards
Promote and adhere to health & safety procedures at all times
Maintain accurate service records, job documentation, and online work diaries
Manage van stock, tools, and equipment to a professional standard
Provide technical advice and support to customers and operators
Support warranty claims and parts assessments
Work to "right-first-time" standards to minimise downtime
Build strong working relationships with customers, crane operators, and internal teams

Location & Working PatternHome based – Republic of Ireland
40 hours per week
Additional hours as required by business demands
Overtime paid at enhanced rates outside normal working hours
Occasional overseas travel may be required

Skills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Crane Service Technician, Field Service Engineer, or similar role
Strong mechanical knowledge with good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
Experience working on cranes or heavy lifting equipment is highly desirable
Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
Good IT skills for service reporting and documentation
Fluent English
Full, clean driving licence
Salary & BenefitsBasic salary: circa €50,000 per annum
