Job Description
Organize, coordinate, and promote a comprehensive sports program designed to meet the needs and interests of the district and community.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Instruct students and manage their behavior effectively.
* Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Apply strong problem-solving skills.
* Hold a Coaching Principles Certificate (NFHS or ASEP).
* Possess Sports First Aid, Health & Safety for Coaches Certificate (ASEP or PREPARE).
* Complete the coaches' portion of the NFHS Sportsmanship Course.
* Complete NFHS Concussion course.
* Complete NFHS Heat Acclimatization course.
* Maintain an active CPR certification each year with AED Training.
* Complete NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest training.
* Have a general knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
* Possess knowledge of the sport.
* Have specific knowledge related to assigned subjects.
* Understand general curriculum and instruction principles.
Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
* Utilize various instructional techniques and media to meet student athletes' needs and improve abilities.
* Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to foster individual growth, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
* Collaborate with school staff to plan and implement instructional goals for the overall educational development of student athletes.
* Establish performance criteria for competition and regularly evaluate students' athletic abilities.
* Take necessary precautions to ensure safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Ensure compliance with all AHSAA rules.
* Monitor and enforce student eligibility for extracurricular activities.
* Coordinate with the Athletic Director to schedule competitions and manage athletic events.
* Continuously evaluate and improve the coaching program based on findings.
* Supervise student athletes during competitions and out-of-town trips.
* Advise students on NCAA regulations regarding academics, scholarships, and recruiting.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Minimum of three to five years coaching experience.
* Other qualifications as required by the school board.
