The Opportunity
This is not a maintenance role - it’s a build-and-own position in a growing global security function tackling one of the hardest modern challenges: Shadow IT risk.
As organisations scale rapidly across SaaS, cloud, and automation platforms, uncontrolled technology usage creates real exposure across data security, privacy, and compliance.
You’ll take the lead in designing and operating a structured governance and enforcement model - balancing risk, business impact, and usability at enterprise scale.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own and evolve a Shadow IT governance & enforcement framework across a global environment
Design and implement blocking strategies for unapproved applications (criteria, thresholds, risk scoring)
Lead escalation and exception processes, making high-impact risk decisions
Partner with Security, Legal, Privacy, and Engineering teams to drive compliance pathways
Build clear documentation and executive-level reporting on security decisions and outcomes
Develop data models, dashboards, and analytics to track trends (blocking, unblocks, risk patterns)
Improve visibility through automation and tooling integration (SaaS discovery, telemetry, intake systems)
Identify gaps in governance and continuously improve controls
What You Bring
Strong experience in Security Engineering, Governance, or Risk Management within large environments
Deep understanding of data protection, SaaS risk, and cloud security
Proven ability to make risk-based decisions balancing business and security needs
Experience working cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, and Tech stakeholders
Ability to clearly communicate technical and business impact (including exec-level reporting)
Hands-on experience with data analysis, dashboards, or automation
Nice to Have
Experience with SSPM, CASB, DSPM or similar tooling
Exposure to cloud security frameworks
Background in automation, scripting, APIs, or AI-driven tooling
Tools like Power BI, Alteryx, Power Automate (or equivalents)
