Our PPD Laboratory Services team plays a crucial role in enhancing patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry leaders, and therapeutic specialists. As a world leader in serving science, our laboratory professionals are committed to delivering groundbreaking innovations.
We have an opening for a Scientist II to join our Biopharmaceutical team on the Evening shift at our Analytical GMP facility in Athlone, Ireland.

As a Scientist II, you will utilize innovative technologies to perform high-quality sample testing for key pharmaceutical clients. Your work in sample preparation and analysis is vital in helping PPD achieve its goal of bringing life-changing therapies to market.
A Day in the Life:
* Understand laboratory procedures and conduct complex analysis under general supervision.
* Perform routine sample preparation and analysis to measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in various formulations and biological matrices for stability and testing.
* Train on the operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
* Review and compile results, ensuring data meets SOP acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol, and product specifications.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field, or equivalent academic/vocational qualification.
Experience:
* Previous experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role.
* Typically 0-2 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* Understanding of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
* Knowledge of regulatory authorities, ICH guidelines, and applicable standards.
* Excellent manual dexterity and communication skills.
* Strong time and project management skills.
* Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* Ability to cross-train in sample preparation techniques.
* Ability to work collaboratively or independently as needed.
* Effective time management to meet deadlines.
