JOB TITLE: QUALITY ENGINEER
Job Description
The purpose of this role is to define the scope, responsibilities, and authority of the Quality
Engineer within Inishowen Engineering Ltd. The position supports the achievement of
company objectives through the effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous
improvement of quality and training systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Policy, objectives, and regulatory compliance.
* Monitor customer, statutory, and regulatory quality requirements.
* Lead 8D problem-solving for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues through to verified corrective action.
* Manage supplier quality, including non-conformances, containment, corrective actions, and audits.
* Investigate and resolve customer complaints, ensuring timely and effective closure.
* Analyse quality data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
* Drive continuous improvement, defect reduction, and cost-saving initiatives with Production and Engineering.
* Support new product introductions, including PPAP, validation, and quality documentation.
* Conduct and support internal and supplier audits. Required Skills and Experience
* Experience of at least 3+ years in a similar role.
* Qualification in an Engineering discipline to minimum HND level or equivalent.
* Experience of working within manufacturing and a Quality Engineering function.
* Knowledge of PPAP, statistical process control metrology or inspection methods/equipment and the 8D problem solving methodology.
* Effective communication skills through all levels of a manufacturing organisation, with customers and suppliers.
* Good team working skills.
* Effective analytical & decision-making ability.
* Self-Motivating & demonstrate initiative.
* Good organisational & time management skills to meet deadlines.
* Experience in using 6 Sigma methodologies (desirable)
