Role Title:Clinical Nurse Manager II: Clinical Facilitator for Cardiothoracic (Keith Shaw) Intensive Care Unit Job Reference Number: 002327 Closing Date:Sunday,17th May 2026 Purpose of the Role: The post holder is responsible for facilitating the personal and professional development of Keith Shaw ICU Staff Nurses, to ensure they are competent and safe practitioners, thus providing a high-quality patient care. The post holder will be responsible for collaborating with nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team within Keith Shaw Unit, other clinical facilitators in Critical Care Unit and in St. Jamess hospital to ensure the continuous quality improvement of critical care nursing practice, thereby improving patient outcomes. Required: Registered General Nurse with The Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible to register. 5 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting or relevant clinical area within the last 7 years,3 of which must be in critical care nursing. Demonstrate management experience throughout the last 2 years. Cardiothoracic Nursing or Critical Care Nursing Qualification (certificate pre 2000, or Postgraduate Diploma with research module). Demonstrate I.T. skills including excellent keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Experience in teaching and assessing the nursing and HCA team throughout the last 2 years. Experience of working with Critical Care Information Systems (including EPR, PAS, and ICCA). Experience of using advanced critical care equipment. Knowledge of GDPR. Desired: Management course. Teaching and assessing course. Research component incorporated into the postgraduate course. Working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems.
