Software Quality Assurance Specialist Job Description
The role of Software Quality Assurance Specialist involves performing thorough testing to ensure the highest quality of software products.
This includes function, integration, and automation testing on various cloud infrastructure projects, such as Red Hat OpenStack Platform.
In this position, you will work alongside some of the brightest engineers in the open source community to come up with innovative solutions to problems.
Continuous growth and learning opportunities are ensured through extensive training programs, including Red Hat Learning modules and certifications, as well as courses at Red Hat University (RHU).
Main Responsibilities:
* Participate in the testing cycle for Red Hat's OpenStack releases.
* Analyze problems, perform root cause analysis, and write accurate bug reports.
* Develop automatic test scenarios in collaboration with the open source community.
* Design and develop a testing framework in Python for various cloud infrastructure environments.
* Configure and install various network devices and services.
* Collaborate with cloud architects and project managers to scope, prioritize new features, and propose suitable test strategies.
* Develop and maintain automation jobs using Jenkins, Python, and Ansible.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience with Linux/UNIX-like operating systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
* Coding skills in Python, Java, or Shell.
* Familiarity with OSI networking layers 2 and 3.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Knowledge of cloud computing environments or virtualization technologies like Openstack, AWS, VMware, KVM, or Xen is a plus.
* Experience with continuous integration tools is also a plus.
* Proficiency in version control systems like Ansible or Git/Github is an asset.
