Overview
The successful candidate will be expected to take full control of a project from design, procurement of the necessary professionals, and commencement of the construction stage to final handover. They will be expected to take complete charge of the project and their duties will cover the following areas:
* Design negotiations with Consultants, Planners and local Authority Officials.
* Properly setting up and staffing each project.
* Sourcing and hiring suitable subcontractors with management team.
* Implementation of all health & safety issues.
* Liaising with the planning and other authorities during construction stage.
* Producing and implementing construction programmes.
* Responsible for achieving and maintaining high quality workmanship.
* Liaising with the surveying department to ensure proper budgetary control.
* Liaising with clients, auctioneers and the sales department.
* Liaising with Architects & Consulting Engineers.
* They will be part of the management team and will have an input into the overall policy for the region.
Qualifications
* It is desirable that the successful candidate would have an Engineering/Construction management qualification or be a qualified Joiner/Carpenter.
* The successful candidate will have approximately 10 to 12 years experience in the construction industry.
* At least 5 years of this experience should be at managerial level in the housing market.
* A housing background is essential and it is essential that the candidate has worked for and delivered high quality residential schemes.
* They must have a good working knowledge of current planning, building and health & safety
