Black Utilities Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Black Utilities Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations group, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of our black utilities infrastructure.
* Manage and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, air handling units (AHUs), compressed air, steam systems, cooling towers, and water treatment systems to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
* Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for utility-related issues to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
* Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize system reliability and efficiency.
* Ensure all black utilities comply with local environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations by conducting regular audits and inspections.
* Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and work permits for utility operations to support compliance and audit requirements.
* Collaborate with EHS teams to promote sustainable energy usage and waste management practices across the organization.
* Identify and implement efficiency improvements to reduce energy consumption and operational costs through data analysis and process improvements.
* Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless facility operations and meet business objectives.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in black utilities engineering, facility maintenance, or industrial utilities within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, steam systems, HVAC, compressed air, and water treatment systems.
* Understanding of BMS (Building Management Systems), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), and energy management principles.
