Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Risk Assurance Data Specialist to strengthen data management and MI reporting within Risk Assurance and Validation (RAV). You will own the end‑to‑end production of key RAV management information, including sourcing data, defining and applying data quality controls, building and maintaining dashboards and reporting packs, and providing clear insight to the Head of RAV, the Group Chief Risk Officer, Group Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee. You will also partner across RAV to standardise datasets, improve data processes and deliver operational efficiencies.
This role will form part of the established RAV Enablement team within the Risk Assurance and Validation. The team supports the RAV team’s delivery including cross‑function reporting, planning, budget management and data tooling. Risk Assurance and Validation play an important role in informing senior management and the Board on the adequacy and effectiveness of our risk management and internal control environment.
Risk Assurance and Validation is a team of specialists across several diverse areas – including Credit Risk, Financial Risks, Sustainability & ESG, Operational Risks, Resilience, Data Protection, Regulatory Compliance, Business Model & Strategy and Conduct & Culture – accessing senior stakeholders within the organisation and plenty of opportunities to obtain great exposure and experience across all areas of the Bank. Key Responsibilities
Source, extract and manage data from multiple systems; build repeatable data pipelines and reporting outputs using tools such as Power BI and QlikView. SQL experience is beneficial. Define and document data definitions/logic and implement controls to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency.
Partner with Risk, Finance, Technology and business stakeholders to agree data requirements, resolve data quality issues and deliver well‑governed reporting within deadlines.
Maintain clear documentation, version control and an appropriate control environment for MI, aligned to AIB policies and risk/compliance expectations.
Define, calculate and maintain key risk metrics and data models; perform trend and root‑cause analysis and translate findings into actionable insight.
Lead the design and delivery of MI and data quality improvements, including automated validation checks, reconciliations, issue logging and remediation tracking.
Minimum Criteria
Strong data management and analysis capability: ability to source data, apply data quality controls (e.g., completeness/accuracy checks, reconciliations), interpret results and produce clear MI and insight.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to produce concise and effective presentations for senior audiences with excellent attention to detail.
Strong organisation skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise, and to work to tight deadlines.
Self‑starter with ability to work on own initiative and strong attention to detail, completing tasks to a very high degree of accuracy.
Experience working with enterprise data platforms, reporting tools and/or banking data sources (customer, credit, finance or risk systems) is an advantage.
