Finance Manager - Financial Planning & Reporting
Location: Cavan
Our client, a well-established international business with turnover exceeding €10 million, is seeking a Finance Manager to join their senior finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining strategic oversight with hands-on leadership and financial reporting accuracy.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position will play a key role in driving financial performance, improving reporting processes, and leading a busy transactional finance function. The successful candidate will also take ownership of banking, FX, and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with group reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide daily leadership and guidance to the finance team (3 staff).
* Identify and assess opportunities to automate financial processes, delivering tangible efficiency gains.
* Prepare high-quality statutory audit files and ensure full external audit compliance.
* Take ownership of monthly reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Develop strong controls and oversight across banking, foreign exchange, and cash management processes.
* Support the professional growth and development of the finance team.
The Ideal Candidate
* Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, or ACA).
* 3–5 years' experience in a senior accounting or finance role within a company with annual turnover of at least €5-6m+
* Experience preparing audit files and working closely with external auditors.
* Strong working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (SAP experience desirable).
* Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* A collaborative leader with a genuine passion for people development.
Key aspects of the role will include;
* Leading and optimising the transactional finance team through process automation and efficiency initiatives.
* Gain full understanding of monthly and group reporting requirements, producing near-final draft reports requiring minimal CFO input.
* Assume ownership of daily banking, FX, and cash control processes.
