Here at Hays we have a role available with a well-known pharmaceutical client based in Cork city who is seeking a Capital Project Engineer on an initial 12-month contract. This would be a hybrid role with a household name with multiple sites based across the company, and it is one of the largest employers nationally and prides themselves heavily on their patient-first approach to medicine and healing.
This successful person will be responsible for all activities required to support project scoping, commissioning, qualification, validation and start-up operations.
Your new role
1. Lead the delivery of engineering projects on time, on budget & in accordance with all project & business safety & quality goals.
2. Scope of new engineering projects & secure capital approval
3. Lead, support and participate in commissioning and qualification activities for both current and future projects.
4. Updating & influencing management and project stakeholders.
5. Coordination of the participation of specialist trades and specialist departments
6. Coordination of project interfaces with other projects and departments
7. Coordination of and interfaces with third parties (suppliers, customers, service providers, etc.)
8. Coordination of project documentation
9. Cost Estimation (creation, tracking, updating, auditing vs actual costs, forecasting)
10. Project Scheduling (creation, tracking, updating, review vs current state, forecasting)
11. Project progress reporting & Risk Management
12. Constructability & Maintainability/Operability studies
13. Project Resource Management
14. Checking the current condition of systems (structural, E&I as well as safety, permitting and documentation)
15. Organisation & coordination of project meetings and appointments
16. Provide project-related training as required.
What you'll need to succeed
17. Third level qualification in Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Science.
18. Experience of delivering engineering projects within a GMP regulated environment.
19. Specific experience working in an API facility or plant
20. Qualification in Project Management
21. Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
22. Experience of SAP, LIMs and/or other business systems
23. 6-Sigma/Kepner-Tregoe or similar problem-solving/decision-making methodology training
24. Experience of working within an engineering team in a multinational corporate environment.
