Electrical Engineering Team Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Team Lead to oversee and lead a team of Electrical engineers in the design fitout of modular units.
This role involves managing the integration of electrical and mechanical systems within modular structures, ensuring that all designs are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Electrical engineers to execute Electrical fitout tasks for modular units.
* Set clear objectives and expectations for team performance, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
* Conduct regular team meetings to review project progress, address challenges, and ensure effective communication.
Design Oversight
Manage the coordination of Electrical designs to ensure seamless integration within modular units and systems, including regular clash detection checks.
Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Monitor the progress of electrical and mechanical fitout works, addressing any challenges, delays, or quality issues that arise.
Project Coordination and Collaboration
Work closely with other project teams (e.g., electrical, structural, civil, procurement) to ensure that all electrical systems are integrated efficiently and meet overall project requirements.
Liaise with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that all Electrical fitout aspects are on track, within scope, and aligned with project milestones.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure that all Electrical designs comply with safety regulations, local codes, and environmental standards (e.g., EN 1090, BCAR etc.).
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of electrical fitout activities, including designs, reports, schedules, and inspection documents.
Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of the electrical fitout to project managers and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Identify opportunities for improving electrical and mechanical fitout processes, reducing costs, and enhancing quality through innovation and technology.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies, applying these insights to improve fitout practices and methodologies.
Drive process improvements in modular construction techniques, ensuring that electrical and mechanical systems are installed more efficiently and sustainably.
To be considered for this role, applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and at least 7-10 years of experience in Electrical engineering roles, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity within modular construction or similar industries.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical systems and modular construction practices, as well as experience with electrical design, installation, and commissioning.
In addition to their technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Familiarity with Building Information modelling (BIM) tools and software for coordination and design of electrical and mechanical systems would be an advantage, as would certification in health and safety management and project management certification.
