Job Description
Role: Enhance Quality of Life for Older Adults as a Specialist Occupational Therapist.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults with dementia and/or long-standing mental health challenges, by providing specialist OT assessment and intervention services in a dynamic inpatient setting.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing quality of life and independence through comprehensive OT assessments focusing on function, cognition, and daily living skills.
* Design and implement compensatory strategies to support autonomy and engagement in meaningful activities.
* Provide specialist seating and positioning assessments for clients with complex physical and cognitive needs.
* Facilitate both individual and group programs within the inpatient setting.
* Lead on discharge planning in close collaboration with the Community Later Life Psychiatry OT team.
* Contribute to service development, clinical audit, and best practice initiatives.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, nursing, social work, and psychology.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Key Requirements: BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy CORU Registration (essential).
Skills: OT Assessment, Compensatory Strategies, Specialist Seating, Positioning, Discharge Planning, Service Development.
