Job Title:
Management Accountant

About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join our team on a permanent basis. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Month End Accounting: Collaborate with bookkeepers to improve finance processes and reporting accuracy. Prepare monthly retail management accounts and provide senior leadership team with accurate and timely financial insights. Complete month end and year end close activities. Prepare all journals, accruals, and adjustments, ensuring they are properly recorded and documented.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis: Work closely with business leaders to support their finance needs and budget process. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide decision making. Analyze financial performance and variances, identifying trends and recommending improvements. Provide insights into cost structures and profitability. Track and report on key performance indicators.
3. Cost Control and Optimisation: Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficiency across operations. Evaluate and manage financial risks, recommending cost-saving measures.
4. Internal Controls, Risk Management, and Compliance: Assist in implementing internal control systems. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies. Support the risk management process, in conjunction with the accounting manager and finance director.
5. Audit, Tax, and Regulatory Filings: Support tax filings as required, including VAT, corporation tax, company secretarial, and other statutory filings. Support external auditors and tax advisors as required. Process Improvements/Projects: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve financial reporting accuracy and timeliness. Identify and support initiatives to drive revenue growth and implement cost savings. Identify improvements to accounting systems and processes. Support any grant applications/administration.
6. Payroll: Prepare weekly payroll (Micropay). Sales reporting and commission workings.

Requirements:
Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or other recognized accounting qualification completed or at an advanced stage in exams with commitment to complete exams to attain qualification). Skills: bank recs, month end accounts payable. Benefits: paid holidays, parking, pension.
