The role of the Environmental Safety Specialist is to promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations and conducting regular risk assessments.
Job Description
* Develop and Maintain Health and Safety Policies and Procedures: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures that ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
* Conduct Regular Site Inspections and Risk Assessments: Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
* Provide Health and Safety Training and Inductions: Provide health and safety training and inductions to new employees to ensure they understand their responsibilities and the importance of health and safety in the workplace.
* Investigate Accidents and Incidents: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their root cause and implement measures to prevent them from happening again.
* Maintain Accurate Records of Health and Safety Activities: Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including training records, incident reports, and risk assessments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in a related field such as occupational health and safety or environmental science is an asset.
* OSHA Certification: OSHA certification is required for this position.
* First Aid and CPR Certification: First aid and CPR certification is also required.
