The Role
Murphy are hiring Graduate Mechanical Engineers to work alongside our experienced site engineers across multi-discipline construction projects, including large-scale civils, rail, water, oil & gas and electricity upgrade projects as part of the green energy transition across Ireland. The graduate scheme offers both technical and soft skills courses to help your professional development and growth as a Mechanical Engineer. Murphy is committed to developing our Engineers and our CPD Programme is accredited by Engineers Ireland.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
* Support commissioning and site maintenance teams in fault finding
* Assist with resolving technical problems at all levels
* Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner
* Accurate maintenance of Quality Management System records
* Assist with ensuring equipment is calibrated, in date and suitably checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements
* Ensure the site diary is accurately maintained, noting the date, location and serial number of equipment used
* Help with the coordination and supervision of Sub-contractors in the performance of the Works
* Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used
* Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer’s recommendations, current working practice, contract specification or project requirements
* Assist the Site Management team to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports
Entry Requirements
* Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer (or set to graduate by Sept 2026)
* Construction Experience (desirable)
* Setting Out and Surveying techniques (desirable)
* Experience in AutoCAD (desirable)

* Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Additional Requirements
* You need a full Irish driving licence due to the locations of projects
* Eligible to work in Ireland with a valid work permit if applicable. Please note, we do not provide sponsorship
* To provide you with the best development opportunities we may ask you to work away from your home location within Ireland during your 2-year programme
