Our client, a well-established organisation based in Kilkenny, is seeking a dependable and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join their onsite finance team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable managing a variety of finance and administrative responsibilities in a busy environment. This is afully onsite position. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day processing of accounts payable and receivable Handle supplier billing, customer payment allocation, and general ledger updates Assist in the preparation and distribution of invoices, credit adjustments, and routine account summaries Support month-end and annual reporting processes Maintain organised digital and physical financial records Process staff expense claims and provide general support with payroll-related administration Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments to resolve account queries Assist with the preparation of VAT returns Provide administrative support to the finance team, including data entry and ad hoc reporting Requirements Relevant finance or business qualification (e.g., IATI, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or equivalent) Previous experience in an accounts administration, bookkeeping, or finance support role within Ireland Strong knowledge of core accounting practices and familiarity with Irish financial compliance Proficiency in widely used accounting packages (e.g., Sage or similar) Strong Excel skills and overall IT competence Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy Skills: accounts assistant assistant accountant finance administrator
