Overview


Under general supervision, applies skills and knowledge to determine the degree of conformance of materials, equipment, and installation of materials and equipment to Wanzek or Client specifications.

Performs inspections of various project activities; generates reports of conditions found during inspection activities; notifies management of significant problems; completes documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities.


Responsibilities


* Promote and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
* Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during daily activities of large-scale wind, solar, and industrial projects, including roads, environmental (SWPPP), excavations, concrete, rebar, substations, transmission lines, solar racking and PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Demonstrate good organizational, planning, and time management skills.
* Plan and conduct daily activities to ensure all QC and QA data are properly recorded.
* Monitor and record all work scope being executed, following reporting criteria as determined by FQM and/or the client.
* Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality control inspections, working closely with field operating teams.
* Detect and address deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
* Work closely with field quality staff, acting as their field representative to ensure construction understands and follows QA/QC requirements.
* Interface with field supervision to maintain communication, monitor job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
* Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections for transfer to permanent files.
* Inspect work and establish punch lists.
* Determine calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
* Ensure daily task schedules are met to adhere to the project schedule.
* Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and team members.
* Maintain a professional appearance.
* Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Education and Work Experience:

* Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field, or high school diploma (GED) with 1-3 years of related construction experience.
* Inspection-related certifications, such as NDE, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Take reasonable care of health and safety, working towards Wanzek's Zero Injury principles.
* Ability to perform work independently.
* Be organized, a self-starter, and possess good interpersonal skills.
* Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
* Write daily reports and document activities.
* Effectively collect and record field data.
* Implement quality control programs effectively.
* Preferred: Ability to calculate figures, areas, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
* Ability to solve problems individually and in teams.
