We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a passion for animal welfare to join our team of three vets and three vet nurses as a qualified animal care assistant (ACA).
At Urban Vets we believe in providing excellent customer service alongside gold standard pet healthcare, so good communication skills and an appreciation for this ethos is essential.
We understand that the veterinary environment has the potential to be stressful for our patients and so we try to reduce this wherever possible, treating each animal as we would want our own pet to be treated.
This is a full-time position (40hrs/week) with flexibility around shifts required.
The role will involve:
* Helping with inpatient care - feeding, walking, administering oral medications and maintaining hygiene of patients and kennel environments. Reporting any abnormalities to the clinical team
* Assisting with handling of animals in consultations and during minor procedures
* Helping out on reception - booking appointments, taking payments, advising clients of our preventative healthcare protocols and directing relevant queries to vets/nurses (training will be provided)
* Cleaning and disinfection of hospital areas and equipment
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with companion animals in a veterinary setting
* Qualification in animal care, animal science or equivalent
* Great communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative
