People & Culture Officer – Carton House

Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing the day‑to‑day HR function across the organisation.
Support the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
Ensure HR policies and procedures are compliant with employment legislation and best practice.
Assist in recruitment and selection – screening CVs, arranging interviews, reference checking, and advertising jobs.
Oversee the administration of all new starters and leavers ensuring compliance.
Manage the performance review process and ensure development plans are in place for succession planning.
Identify training and development needs across the organisation.
Coordinate learning and development initiatives.
Provide professional HR guidance and support to managers and employees.
Monitor and manage sickness and other unplanned absences.
Report on and provide analysis on a monthly basis of key HR performance indicators such as staff turnover, absence and headcount.
Manage, maintain, and enhance employee relations including staff benefits, events, staff morale and retention.
Advise, guide and assist with employee relations issues, including investigations, grievances, disciplinary hearings and other formal meetings.
Qualifications
2–3 years experience in a similar role.
Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy.
Experience and competence using Alkimii would be an advantage but not essential; training will be provided.
HR qualification desirable, or working towards the same.
Ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
Previous experience in the hospitality industry desirable but not essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages essential.
Ability to operate within a highly pressurised and fast‑paced environment and work on your own initiative.
A structured and organised approach to work planning.
Excellent planning, organisation and co‑ordination skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, high level of energy and a positive can‑do attitude.
