Position Description
The role of the Lead Project Manager (LPM) in the National Capacity Deployment team, entails leading restricted capacity projects from conception through to construction hand-over to the delivery team. To successfully accelerate restricted capacity projects through to delivery the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying solutions to release capacity in constraint areas of the network. Once the solution is agreed the LPM will be responsible for leading the development of TA's, Technical Costing, Pre-CA design, CA, detailed design and ordering of material; utilising key stakeholders in each respective area (i.e. Network Planning Team, OE's, EMP Pre-CA Design, External Design Contractors etc).
Limited Capacity projects due to their nature have ambitious delivery timelines and it will be the responsibility of the LPM to ensure that project KPI's and critical path items are being achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
The LPM will be the single point of contact for all issues relating to capacity restricted projects to ensure appropriate plans are put in place to lift capacity restrictions, allowing for customers to connect to a secure and reliable system.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
* Report to Network Capacity Deployment Manager, Strategy and Network Development.
* Develop and implement innovative solutions to release capacity in restricted areas of the network
* Plan and set priorities for the delivery of capacity work programmes
* Project manage individual restricted capacity projects from conception through to construction hand-over with respective delivery org, ensuring all KPI's and critical path items are achieved
* Liaise closely with all project stakeholders throughout the early lifecycle of the project ensuring accelerated development from technical approval through to detailed design
* Where required review the change request process for capacity projects for all changes to technical, cost, outage, or time aspects of a project
* Identify and mitigate against project risks, and where necessary escalate project risks in a timely fashion to relevant stakeholders
* Adhere to all network standards ensuring that network investment will lead to safe, secure and reliable system
* Implement PMO Project Management Methodology
* Manage customers and stakeholders e.g. large high profile demand customers, EirGrid, local authorities etc
Essential Knowledge, Skills And Experience
* Understands and applies project management PMO principles
* A proven track record in project managing the delivery of HV substation engineering projects (38 – 220 kV) including:
* HV station safety policy and procedures
* Pre CA cost estimation
* HV station design
* Distribution and transmission outage planning
* Station Protection
* Commissioning
* HV Cables
* Civil works
* Energisation instructions
* Understands the relevant approved Quality Management standards in ESB Networks i.e. Quality Control, Quality Planning and Quality Assurance
* ESB Networks business knowledge
* Knowledge of Network Assets
* Knowledge of commercial implications of project delivery
* 7+ years relevant experience required
Qualifications
Either a 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.

Salary
€71,000 to €84,000 per annum
