Role Profile
This postdoctoral position is funded by Research Ireland under the Frontiers for the Future programme, within the project "Payment Channel Networks: Theory and Application".
The project develops new theory, methods and empirical analysis for off‑chain payment-channel networks and related decentralised finance (De Fi) protocols, with a particular focus on liquidity management, network efficiency and security, and incentive‑compatible fee and reward mechanisms informed by both payment channels and automated market makers (AMMs).
The Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute across a blended remit spanning payments, AMMs and fee design, combining rigorous mathematical modelling (stochastic processes and optimisation) with data analysis and computational work (simulation, backtesting and reproducible research code).
The position is based at DCU's Glasnevin Campus with the possibility of remote working up to two days per week, subject to University policy.
The expected start date is September 2026 and the post is available for 24 months.
