Job Opportunity
This is a 37 hour per week Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist position based in the Central Mental Hospital and the Irish Prison Service.
The role will involve assessing and treating patients with learning disabilities who are involved in the criminal justice system, providing expert psychiatric care to support rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and treat patients with learning disabilities who are involved in the criminal justice system.
* Provide expert psychiatric care to support rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
* Conduct assessments and provide reports as required by legal authorities.
Requirements
* MDB DSM ST Specialist training in Learning Disability Psychiatry or equivalent experience.
* Consultant experience in Adult General Psychiatry or equivalent experience.
* Significant experience working with patients with learning disabilities in forensic settings.
* Demonstrated expertise in assessment and management of patients with complex mental health needs.
