Clinical Nurse Manager II Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager II to lead our St Clare's Ward Medical/Surgical team.
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of St Clare's Floors, ensuring high standards of nursing care to patients. They will coordinate all nursing care activities, lead and motivate staff, and promote excellent patient outcomes.
Ideal Candidate:
1. R.G.N. qualification with 5 years post-registration experience in an acute general medical/surgical setting.
2. Suitable management experience and/or relevant qualifications.
3. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, accountability, and communication skills.
4. Appropriate clinical and managerial skills with evidence of continuing professional development.
5. A flexible approach to work patterns, including regular working hours over 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overall management of the department, ensuring staff deliver patient care according to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
2. Allocate and supervise floor staff duties, providing guidance and support as needed.
3. Administrative duties outside office hours, including Sister-in-charge responsibilities, as agreed by the Director of Nursing.
4. Ongoing assessment of workload, checking performance, quality, and output to ensure improved patient care.
5. Foster effective communication between departments and disciplines, maintaining good working relationships.
6. Prepare Patient Reports/Returns for Medical, Nursing, and Administrative staff as required.
7. Document and report complaints, accidents, or good catches to the Best Practice Manager/Director of Nursing in accordance with hospital policy.
8. E nsure adherence to risk management policy, observe, and report any faulty equipment or work hazards to the Director of Nursing.
