About the Role
As a System Architect you will take a technical leadership role in designing system and software products for Battery management and electric powertrains. You will work to understand OEM architectures and needs and develop a future perspective to see emerging needs. Following a systemic development process and best system engineering practices and tools, you will develop work products like the product concept document, system requirements and system specifications. You will plan and conduct architecture design reviews with the project team. You will work very closely with other System Domain experts and the hardware, software and testing teams. You may need to provide guidance to executive leadership team on critical technology decisions. You may also support advanced technology initiatives.
You will be expected to keep up to date with the latest technology advances, industry trends and customer architectures and provide though leadership both internally and externally to Analog Devices. Participation on industry standards groups and further education is encouraged and supported. As is working with your peers across Analog Devices on initiatives and working groups. You will be part of an agile diverse team with domain expertise in battery management, battery technology and algorithms, security, wireless, software, and functional safety so there is plenty of opportunities to learn from peers.
Your Qualifications:
Minimum BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE and 5+ years of experience preferred
Experience and Skills
Your Experience:
Experience in architecting and designing battery management systems, battery state algorithms or EV powertrain systems for automotive
Understanding of the working theory of lithium-ion batteries and familiarity with new chemistries.
Requirement’s definition and management (traceability, disaggregation)
Experience with articulating and presenting concepts to Customers and uncovering their needs
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to understand and clearly articulate technical issues
Good verbal and written English communication skills to work effectively with teams spread geographically and support automotive customers
Nice to have -
Deep experience in BMS cell and pack measurement, communications, processing, and control
Deep experience in developing complex algorithms such as battery state estimation and health algorithms (SoC, SoH, SoP) for automotive or industrial applications.
Electrical System modelling experience in MATLAB or similar tools
Familiarity with sysML and tools like Enterprise Architect
Experience with APSICE or other automotive software and product development processes
Experience in functionally safe systems based on IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 at the system or IC level
