- Food job include: Developing and executing the commercial trading plan to deliver sales, margin, and profit targets across all categories.Leading, coaching, and growing a high-performing Trading team, promoting collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.Owning the Trading function P&L, ensuring strong budget control and effective cost management.Managing and strengthening supplier relationships, leading negotiations on Joint Business Plans (JBP) and Long-Term Agreements (LTA).Spotting new commercial opportunities and driving innovation across categories to grow performance and enhance the customer proposition.Ensuring pricing, range architecture, and seasonal activity remain competitive and aligned to customer expectations.Using data, insight, and market intelligence to guide decision-making, optimise results, and stay ahead of trends.Maintaining high standards of governance, ensuring trading activity meets company policy, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.Partnering with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance) to align trading priorities with wider business goals.Leading change initiatives and process enhancements to improve efficiency and support scalability in a fast-moving environment.Experience required for this Head of Buying
