Irish Continental Group plc ("ICG") is a leading Irish-based maritime transport group. Its activities include the carriage of passengers, cars, and Roll On/Roll Off freight under the Irish Ferries brand, and Lift On/Lift Off freight under the Eucon brand. The Group operates shipping services between Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe, and runs container terminals in the ports of Dublin and Belfast. ICG has annual revenues of approximately €600 million and directly employs around 300 people in the logistics sector.
About the Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Manager, this is a broad, hands-on position within a small, high-performing finance team. You will have responsibility for key aspects of internal and external financial reporting, including:
Responsibilities
* Preparation of the Group annual budget.
* Monthly and quarterly Board financial reporting.
* Preparation of consolidated interim and annual financial statements under IFRS.
* Preparation of statutory financial statements for subsidiary companies.
* Issuing market announcements to Euronext Dublin.
* Bank covenant reporting.
* Tax compliance and reporting.
You will also contribute to cash management, statistical reporting to the CSO/ONS, secretarial compliance, and ad-hoc finance projects. The role involves regular liaison with external auditors and divisional finance teams across the Group. We use SAP as our main ERP system, with bespoke operational systems in each business line fully integrated at the financial reporting level.
Qualifications
This role offers excellent exposure to PLC reporting standards and practices. It will suit a recently qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with:
Required Skills
* A strong academic record.
* Large practice experience (Big 4 or Top 10 preferred).
* Detailed knowledge of IFRS and experience preparing financial statements.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* A proven problem-solving mindset and the ability to work proactively.
