Senior Designer's Site Representative
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer's Site Representative to oversee a major roads project in Co Cork.
* The successful candidate will act as the key on-site representative of the design team, liaising with contractors, local authorities, and project stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the roadworks.
* They will be responsible for ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with the approved design, specifications, and relevant regulations.
* Key responsibilities include overseeing the construction and installation of roads, bridges, drainage, and associated infrastructure, reviewing contractor method statements, risk assessments, and material submissions, and monitoring quality control and safety on-site.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in site supervision, quality control, and contractor management, with a strong knowledge of TII standards, Irish building regulations, and road design principles.
* They will also be proficient in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar, and have excellent communication and reporting skills.
Required Skills:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with Engineers Ireland (or working towards it).
* 10+ years of experience in road and highway construction, with prior experience as a DSR or Senior Site Engineer.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve technical challenges on-site.

* Prepare detailed progress reports and attend project meetings to keep stakeholders informed.
* Coordinate with contractors, local authorities, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), and other key stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, documenting progress, issues, and recommendations.
* Provide technical guidance on design modifications and liaise with the design office to address on-site challenges.
* Assist in dispute resolution, variation assessments, and claims management.
