Your Role: As the Data Operations Senior Manager, you will lead the ?Run? data engineering & platforms teams and be responsible for leading the day-to-day management and optimisation of the bank's Data & Analytics operations, ensuring data quality, availability, and reliability to support business operations, regulatory reporting, and Analytics. You will develop Data Operations strategies and establish processes and controls that ensure the scalability, efficiency, and security of the data environments. You will create efficiency by aligning data systems and processes with business goals. You will lead data pipeline execution, incident & problem resolution, and coordination between business and technical stakeholders. You will work closely with the Data Solutions Senior Manager, the leader of the `build? data engineering teams, acting as a trusted advisor to help their work in large scale change requests to be of long-standing value and scalable alongside existing engineering solutions. The Data Engineering & Platforms teams within the Run Pillar directs initiatives on operational processes that align with the company's strategic ambitions, as well as deploying systems that ensure data reliability, efficiency, and the capacity to scale effectively. Your Team: Your role will lead the Data Operations team within the `Run? Pillar of the CDAO function with key responsibility for teams and capabilities across Data Operations, Data Storage solutions, and Data & Analytics Platforms. This unit leads the organisation's efforts in managing and optimising data workflows, specialising in the development, optimisation, and management of data pipelines and storage solutions. Standardising data sourcing and integration, enhancing data quality and efficiency, and ensures data is clean, transformed, while also maintaining data lineage for transparency. You will report into the Head of Data and Analytics Operations & Services and lead a team of c.12 people as well as external partners as required. Your Responsibilities: Functional Strategy & Delivery Lead the Data Operations & Platforms teams, responsible for monitoring, optimisation, and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing/lake solutions to ensure data is accurately captured, stored, and made accessible. As a senior manager, you are responsible for guiding the execution of a cohesive data & analytics strategy with the Head of Data and Analytics Operations & Services, that aligns with the goals of various departments, ensuring enterprise-wide collaboration on data initiatives. Risk Management & Control Implement rigorous audit controls for data processes and analytics to assure the integrity and accuracy of data used in regulatory reporting and financial disclosures, ensuring it meets the criteria for validity, reliability, traceability, timeliness, availability, security, and consistency. Lead operational data platform monitoring, identify, and resolve any data-related incidents and problems, minimising downtime and suggesting actions to prevent future occurrences. Lead an inspiring Culture Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the Data Operations team, emphasising the importance of data engineering, regulatory data provision, and data governance to inform strategic planning and enhance the bank's data-driven decision-making processes. Direct and support your Data Operations & Platform Managers on prioritisation and delivery of maintenance updates and local change project requests for engineering work, based on business value and resource availability. Review the maintenance backlog and oversee the plan to measure progress. Stakeholder Engagement Ensure data engineering and platform initiatives align with business objectives by collaborating with stakeholders across various departments, including IT, compliance, and business units. Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to embed robust security protocols into new data systems, safeguarding against breaches and unauthorised access. Requirements: Essential ? Minimum of 8+ years? experience and demonstrable track record of achievement in Data Engineering, Data Operations or a relevant area, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. Proven experience in data operations, data management, or a technical project management role, with a strong understanding of data processing workflows and technologies. Demonstrable leadership and people management experience in a similar role. Extensive experience with pipeline creation, data provisioning & storage, sandbox provisioning, architecture, cloud data technologies, unstructured data, ETL development, data modelling, APIs, SQL, NO-SQL databases, and big data tools and processing frameworks. Experience leading a team and managing data operations in a complex organisational environment and ability to manage diverse stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and persuade senior decision makers.
