Job Description:
The Senior Supervisor, Maintenance is a senior supervisory role within the Stryker Ireland Maintenance function. This position requires a technically strong leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage both the maintenance team and cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Maintenance team to ensure operational objectives are met through the delivery of a robust and efficient maintenance program.
* Ensure Preventive Maintenance activities are completed on schedule and to a high standard.
* Oversee timely execution of Corrective Maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing overall equipment effectiveness.
* Monitor, report, and act on key performance metrics, including Equipment Uptime, Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
* Address machine safety concerns promptly and effectively, supporting investigations and follow-up actions related to any safety incidents or hazards.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance function, using lean tools and root cause analysis to improve processes and performance.
* Foster a culture of development through structured upskilling, technical training, and mentoring of technicians and engineers.
* Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and conduct performance reviews to support growth and engagement of team members.
* Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other support functions to ensure maintenance requirements are integrated into business planning and execution.
* E nsure team compliance with GMP, GDP, EHS, and other regulatory and safety requirements.
* Represent the Maintenance department in cross-functional forums and site-wide initiatives.
* Drive the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for planning, execution, and reporting of all maintenance activities.
* Provide out-of-hours and shutdown support as required, ensuring adequate response and continuity of operations.
* Lead technical investigations and support cross-functional troubleshooting efforts to resolve chronic or complex equipment issues.
* Support the integration of reliability engineering principles into the maintenance function, with a focus on proactive asset care, failure mode analysis, and predictive maintenance strategies.
Qualifications:
* A Level 8 Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
* Minimum of 6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with ideally 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
* Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment highly advantageous.
* Proven technical background in maintenance of production equipment, ideally within medical device, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing sectors.
* Strong understanding of CMMS systems, equipment reliability metrics, and maintenance planning principles.
* Good knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements and current Health and Safety Regulations legislation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse technical teams.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively across all levels of the organization.
* Experience using lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
* A high level of emotional intelligence with strong coaching and people management skills.
* Flexible and adaptable, with effective project management and prioritization capabilities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, self-starting approach to work.
