We are a packaging company that develops plastic-based solutions for our customers and are committed to running our business responsibly with value for stakeholders.The roleWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our finance team in the private equity backed sustainable plastic manufacturing sector operating in over 25 locations globally. This role ensures efficient compliance with all tax regulations, optimizes tax strategies, and supports global business operations through effective tax planning. Following our merger, you will support integration efforts and help develop a truly global tax team. You will bring a deep understanding of corporate tax, indirect taxes, and international tax matters relevant to a global manufacturing business. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (located across the US, Canada and EMEA) to drive financial efficiency and compliance.Provide tax advisory support for business initiatives, including financing, mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.Collaborate with treasury, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure tax-efficient business practices.Manage and oversee corporate tax compliance, including income tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes (such as US sales tax). Pioneer automation strategies across the tax process.Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws. Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities as needed.Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business. Lead tax audits (proactive prevention) and manage disputes or inquiries from tax authorities.Qualifications and experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CTA) is advantageousMinimum of 7-10 years of relevant tax experience, ideally with both industry and advisory firm experienceStrong knowledge of international tax regulations; experience with debt financing or indirect taxes is welcomed.
