Job Title: Toolmaker
The role of a Toolmaker is to maintain and repair all moulds in a high-volume injection moulding manufacturing facility. Additionally, the Toolmaker has responsibility for the manufacture and repair of jigs and fixtures and spare parts for injection moulds.
Key Responsibilities:
* Repair and maintain all high-precision moulds, including multi-cavity moulds, Hot Runner moulds; Valve-gated moulds; Stack moulds.
* Compile standard specifications/procedures/records for each mould and monitor all existing moulds to standard specifications.
* Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.
* Work with production and engineering teams in troubleshooting mould problems.
* Carry out tool builds.
* Support initial tool trials and validations, etc.
* Support tool changes where required.
Maintaining the highest quality and compliance standards, participating and complying with the quality management system. Identifying and generating opportunities for improvement and actively participating in the implementation of corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
* Having a toolmaking qualification and over ten years served as a toolmaker.
* A good knowledge of injection moulding tooling, trouble shooting repair and maintenance for the role, while an understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics would be an advantage.
* Possessing excellent interpersonal, teamwork, IT and communication skills.
