The Opportunity: *Please be aware this role is 60% FTE - 3 days per week* The main functions of this position is for the development, improvement and control of all QC activities.
This shall involve control of laboratory activities such as analysis, scheduling, review of analytical data, development of laboratory procedures, investigations, approval of Environmental monitoring and water programs, reporting of non-conformances and adverse trends, scheduling of calibration & validation activities in conjunction with the engineering department, procurement and qualification of laboratory instruments.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee all laboratory operations to ensure full compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Supervise and optimize lab activities to maintain or improve operational efficiency.
Anticipate, evaluate, and resolve technical challenges within the microbiology lab.
Coordinate resources to meet production, testing, validation, and environmental monitoring schedules.
Approve and manage all QC Micro documentation, including SOPs, test methods, reports, and equipment records.
Monitor QC data and trends, ensuring timely responses, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education: Third level qualification in a Science discipline, or extensive related proven experience in the required areas.
Additional information: This is a 12 months, fixed term contract position.
Position is based in Kerry - Ireland.
This position requires you to be 100% on site for the 3 days per week.
