Job Description:
Windmill Healthcare is currently recruiting for the position of Assistant Director of Nursing to join our Management Team at Ferbane Care Centre, Ferbane, Co Offaly.
This position reports to the Director of Nursing / Person in Charge. It offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a team of Clinical Nurse Managers, Registered Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants, and to play an active role in a multidisciplinary team to contribute significantly at Ferbane Care Centre.
Responsibilities:
* Support and deputise in the absence of the Director of Nursing, undertaking the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations, and HIQA standards.
* Ensure that hygiene and food safety standards are maintained at the highest level possible.
* Participate in clinical management within Willow Brooke Care Centre, including providing care to residents, communicating with residents and families, managing staff, monitoring performance, developing policies, and delivering training.
* Coordinate quality and safety systems, including clinical risk management and resident involvement.
* Participate in coaching and appraisal of staff regularly.
* In consultation with HR, participate in grievance and disciplinary activities.
* Coordinate, roster, and manage staff with the senior management team.
* Lead by example with a professional, punctual, and dedicated team.
* Participate in developing policies and standards for Willow Brooke Care Centre.
Requirements:
* NMBI Registration
* Experience as a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 or Assistant Director of Nursing within a Nursing Home.
* At least 3 years post-registration experience in a nursing home environment within the last 6 years.
* Qualification in Gerontology and/or Dementia (desirable).
* Thorough knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations, and governance in a Nursing Home setting.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
* Ability to embrace change and be committed to continuous improvement and learning.
* Effective workload management and flexibility to respond to short-notice demands.
