Overview
The Mercantile Hotel in the heart of Dublin City is looking for reliable, hardworking and energetic Porters to join our vibrant and growing team. Responsibilities
* Receiving and sorting linen trolley deliveries and ensuring all items are stored in the correct areas with delivery dockets submitted to the office.
* Collecting handover from the Supervisor or Manager at the start of each shift and completing daily assigned tasks (e.g. delivering cots, beds, and duvets to designated rooms).
* Cleaning stayover rooms if assigned.
* Completing regular floor walks to check pantries and trolleys restocking linen, bottled water, and amenities where needed.
* Clearing glassware, crockery, and cutlery from storerooms and returning them to the kitchen.
* Stripping beds in departure rooms and sorting dirty linen appropriately.
* Covering absent PA attendants and supporting shift handovers where needed.
* Clearing any leftover rubbish or cardboard from guest floors.
* Ensuring all fresh linen is distributed to the correct floors and used linen is left ready for morning collection.
What Were Looking For
* Previous experience in a hotel or similar hospitality setting is a bonus, but not essential.
* A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
* Friendly, reliable, and team-oriented.
* Willingness to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
* Good communication skills and ability to take direction.
* A passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
